FROM SELF-EDUCATED BACKGROUND TO PROFESSIONAL PLACES
Since always, Léa investigates her passion for Performing Arts.
As child, she would dance every day in family's garden and create little choreographies for her birthday guests... Later, she followed companies classes with Géneviève Sorin, Christine Fricker and Ex Nihilo in Marseille. After High School diploma specialisation in Fine Art (2001), she integrated pre-professional education at Choreographic Development Center ( CDC, Toulouse, 2003). There she meet artists and choreographers : Thierry Baë, Boris Charmatz Dominique Mercy, Frey Faust , Sam Louwyck, Saburo Teshigawara and Mark Tompkins.
From 2003 to 2007, she worked with company Subito Presto for multidisciplinary project by Yvon Bayer ( choreographer-musicien) and Martina Kramer ( visual artist). Parallely, she began her own artistic research with collectif PRESENT through Laboratory MétaSonChoré ( Lyon, FRANCE).
CREATIVE SPIRIT
In 2007, she clearly decided to engaged herself into choroegraphy studies, she joined ArtEZ Dansacademie where she created eight pieces such « DEDICATED TO EVERY ONE THAT YOU RECOGNIZE » , « SPECTRUM », « A LINE BETWEEN MEDITATION AND CHAOS » and « 2 versions of a performance ».
During 2007/2010, she researched on choreographic assistant tools when she assisted Jeanne Yasko, Guillem Mont de Pallol and Géneviève Sorin. She made a stage with Myriam Gourfink.
In 2006, she meet Pablo Volo co-director artistic of EX VOTO (street art and theatre company, Marseille). Since then, she currently works as choreographer and dancer for EX VOTO. In 2009, director Benedetto Sicca ( Ludwig theatre, ITA) asked her to join JORGOS project for which she leads body wawarness/ physical training and movement research.
At the moment, Léa collaborates with Vania Ybarra for their project “ ADVERTISING EXERCISES ”.
Léa most recent piece “ 2 versions of a performance ” has been programed at “ Gevaarlijk Goed” Kunst & Festival by KCG Arnhem.
Léa's artistic need is to research and develop tools for collaborativeness into making process.
Léa's artistic intention is to create experimental and singular format ( for conventional theatre or in location, Performing Arts and installation or event) which propose the audience to approach/capture self journey and being motion.
Léa's choreographic skill is her talent to : compose with spaces and scales, research into extrem physicality speed, structure her pieces with Open Form Composition sytems and draw poetic atmospheres.
